what does burglary protection cost?

As cheap as possible:

Do you only need surveillance at 1 place, for example at your garage to monitor your car and bikes, and don’t think HD image is necessary? Then buy an analogue set with 1 camera. Make sure the camera is suitable for outdoor use. You will then spend between £300 and £450.

Home security:

You would like to secure not only your garage, but also the front door of your house. Then get a set with 2 cameras. This way, you have surveillance in all areas around your home. For an analogue set with 2 cameras, you will spend between £350 and £500.

Home security with an HD IP System:

For a more detailed image, for example to better recognise people or license plates, get an HD IP System with 2 cameras. Then you will spend between £600 and £1,600.

Cost overview Camera security prices

The choices you make determine the price of your camera security.

The price of your camera surveillance system is determined by the 5 choices below.

Choice 1: Analogue or HD IP
  • Analogue: There are 2 different forms of camera surveillance: analogue and HD IP. The analogue surveillance camera has a somewhat outdated system and the image is not as sharp as that of an HD IP camera system. Hence, an analogue camera system is a lot cheaper than an HD IP surveillance camera. For an analogue camera system with 1 camera, you pay around £300 and £450.
  • HD IP: Want razor-sharp images? Then an HD IP surveillance camera is more for you. An HD IP camera has a much higher resolution, making the image quality much better. This allows you to record much more detailed and recognisable images. For an HD IP surveillance camera system with 1 camera, you pay around £500 and £1,100.

Choice 2: Type of surveillance cameras: Dome or Bullet
  • Bullet camera: A bullet camera is a camera on a stand or bracket and is more often waterproof than a dome camera. As a result, it is often bought for outdoor use. A bullet camera is striking and you can always see exactly where it is pointed, which has a deterrent effect on burglars.
  • Dome camera: Dome cameras are round and are therefore more resistant to vandalism and blowing branches. A big advantage of a dome camera is that you can place them against the wall, but also on the ceiling. A dome camera is sometimes waterproof, but not always. So when buying a dome camera, you should pay close attention to this. With a dome camera, you cannot see where it is pointed. They often look neater and cables can be hidden more easily.
Choice 3: stand-alone camera or recorder included?

A surveillance camera is not very useful without a recorder because you cannot record images. This is why you usually buy a camera with a recorder. However, you only need to buy a recorder once. A separate camera is a lot cheaper. An analogue single camera starts at £80 and a HD IP camera at £300.

Choice 4: Install it yourself or have it installed?

Most people choose to have their security cameras installed by a technician, because then you can be sure it will be connected properly. Prices of having your surveillance camera installed vary between £150 and £200.

Choice 5: Additional options

When buying your new surveillance cameras, there are a number of additional options to purchase. They are not compulsory but they are worth considering.

Night vision camera + £ 50 – £ 200 Also good image at night.
