Thermostat prices

Depending on your requirements, these are the thermostat prices:

The cheapest

The extensive options of a thermostat are not important to you. You just want your home to feel cosy. Then opt for a room thermostat. You can have a new room thermostat installed from as little as £80.

Most practical

You don’t want to have to worry about the thermostat much, but you also want your home to be heated effectively. After all, you are not always at home during the day and heating at night is not necessary because you will be in bed. You then choose a clock thermostat. With this thermostat, you set the times you want to heat in advance. This prevents unnecessary heating. The clock thermostat is available from as little as £ 150.

The most luxurious

Come home every evening to a house that still needs to be warmed up is not pleasant. You’d like the thermostat to turn on as soon as you’re almost home, so it’s nice and warm the moment you walk into your house. You also want to be able to control your thermostat remotely with your tablet or smartphone, and you want to have insight into your consumption costs. You then opt for a smart thermostat. Such a thermostat is already installed in your home from £200.

How are the thermostat prices constructed?

Cost overview Thermostat prices

The thermostat prices consist of labour costs, material costs and call-out costs. The labour cost is between £50 and £60. Installing a thermostat usually takes no more than an hour. The call-out costs depend on the distance the specialist has to travel. These costs are around 5% of the total price. For exact costs, we recommend requesting several quotes and comparing them. Material costs depend mainly on a number of choices you make. Those choices are discussed in more detail below.

What choices affect the price?

You affect the price of a thermostat through the following choices:

Choice 1: What kind?

The first choice you make is to choose the kind of thermostat you want. As mentioned earlier, there are 3 types: clock thermostat, room thermostat and the smart thermostat. The room thermostat is the cheapest option and the smart thermostat the most luxurious. You have certain needs and requirements that the thermostat must meet. List these for yourself and choose the thermostat that best suits your situation.

Choice 2: Extra options

In addition to the necessary choices, you also have extra options to enrich your home:

  • Thermostat knob on radiator: A thermostat knob on your radiator ensures that you not only have the choice between open and closed, but also for a (little) bit open or a (little) bit closed. This gives you more influence over the heat your radiator gives off. A thermostatic knob costs around £40.
  • Thermostatic tap: A thermostatic tap is simply put, a tap where you turn the knob to change the heat of the water. Once you find the right temperature, you easily leave the tap at this temperature. This is possible because the on/off button and the temperature knob are separate. A thermostatic tap is mainly used in kitchens and showers. The price of a thermostatic tap ranges from £300 to £1,000.
