What choices determine the home security price?

A number of choices affect the price of home security. Check out the different choices and their costs in the overview below.

Choice 1: Window security

An open window is the ideal way for burglars to enter your home. Even when the window is closed, they see an opportunity to break open the window. You can prevent this by having good window security installed. For example, choose a window opener, so you can ventilate your home but no one can get in through here. To close your window, choose window locks or surface-mounted locks. Locks are placed both on the window and on the frame, so you can easily lock the window. See the average cost for each type of window security below. £ 80

Choice 2: Door security

For good home security, choose secure doors. With secured doors, there are a number of choices that affect the cost. For example, you have cylinders that may or may not be resistant to the latest burglary techniques, such as core pulling. This involves the burglar removing the cylinder from the door fitting. It is also possible to have the door fitting protected against this technique. Finally, you can choose to have one or more security locks fitted with the SKG quality mark, so that they are extra secure. Read more about door security prices here.

Type of alarm system Average price
(including VAT)
Wireless £ 150 – £ 800
Wired £ 150 – £ 600

Choice 3: Alarm system

There are different types of home alarm systems. You make the choice between a wired, wireless or hybrid system. You also have to decide whether you want to connect the sensors to an alarm or to your lights. If you also connect the sensors to lights, they will automatically turn on when someone walks nearby. Check out the average prices of an alarm system here.

Wireless £ 150 – £ 800
Wired £ 150 – £ 600

Choice 4: Camera surveillance

Camera surveillance gives you a picture of who has been in or around your home. In case of a burglary, you will know faster who the culprit is, making it easy for the police to catch the culprit. There are several types of security cameras to choose from. First, there are analogue cameras and, in addition, there are HD cameras. Analogue cameras are cheaper but provide lower quality than HD cameras. Check out the average camera surveillance prices below.

Analogue set with 2 cameras £ 350 – £ 500

Choice 5: Roller shutters

With roller shutters you not only protect your home from the sun, but also ensure good security. This is because burglars have little to no chance of getting through a roller shutter. Roller shutters are mainly made of plastic or aluminium and can be operated manually or electrically. On average, roller shutters cost between £200 and £1,050. Read more about roller shutter prices here. £ 250

There are also a number of additional options that affect the home security price. Think, for example, of a maintenance contract or a connection to the monitoring centre, as well as a security door or a monitor service. Are you curious about all these extra options and their prices? Check it out in the overview below.
