Different packages
Depending on your requirements, the prices of the packages are as follows:
Standard security:
A number of elements are standard requirements for a house if you want to do burglary prevention. If you find further security superfluous, opt for standard security with window security, door security and an alarm system. This way, you won’t incur too many costs but your house will be well protected. For all these means together, you will spend around £ 1,000.
Good security:
If you still want a little more security, you can add camera surveillance to the above package. This way, you can keep an even closer eye on your home and belongings. A package that provides really good security costs on average £ 1700.
Complete package:
Do you have a lot of expensive and valuable items and do you live in a neighbourhood with a lot of burglaries? Then it is wise to go for a complete package. With these tools, burglars will soon realise that they have no chance at all at your house. In addition to the above means, you also buy a roller shutter. The costs for the total package will amount to an average of £4,000.
How does the price structure of burglary protection work?
What choices determine the burglary protection prices?
When buying your burglary protection, you make several choices. First, you decide which measures you want to take and which you don’t. Once you have determined what your requirements are, you will see that these also include choices that determine the price of your burglary protection.
Choice 1: Window security
Window security is the most important measure to take against theft, as the window is the most common entrance for burglars. Depending on the quality and scope of the security, window security costs between £25 and £250.
Choice 2: Door security
There are different measures to secure your door. Some measures are more effective and have greater security against burglary than others. As a result, there are also differences in prices in securing your door. Prices of door security vary from £30 to £500.
Choice 3: Alarm systems
If you are going to buy an alarm system, then you have choices to make in the way of connection and whether or not you want a subscription to the monitoring station. Compare alarm systems to make the best choice for your situation
- Connection: When connecting your alarm system, there are 3 different options: Wired, wireless or hybrid. A wired system is best suited for new homes, wireless for quick installation and hybrid if you want to expand the system later. Wired and wireless systems are usually cheaper than a hybrid system.
- Communication selector: You also have to choose which way you want alarm notifications to be sent. This is via PSTN (landline phone) LAN ( landline phone and internet) or GSM (landline phone, internet and SMS). PSTN prices are around £ 45 – £ 65, LAN prices are around £ 100 and £ 135 and GSM prices are around £ 200 – £ 300. More information on the choices and prices can be found on the page about alarm systems.
Choice 4: Camera surveillance
- Type of camera: You have the choice of analogue or an HD IP system. The difference in this is the price. An HD IP system is more expensive than analogue because it has a better and more detailed image.
- Type of camera: In terms of camera type, you have a choice between a bullet camera and a dome camera. A dome camera is round and is therefore more resistant to vandalism and blowing branches. The round shape means you cannot see exactly where it is pointed. A bullet camera has a base or bracket. As this type of camera has a canopy, it is more often suitable for outdoor use than a dome camera. In terms of prices, not necessarily 1 type of camera is more expensive than the other, this differs per camera. Want more pricing information on camera surveillance? Then check out the page on camera surveillance.
Choice 5: Roller shutters
Roll shutters are also a good means of combating burglary, but they also work as a sunscreen and insulation. Roller shutters are available in different sizes and thicknesses. They can be electronic and they are also available in special designs, such as fire-retardant, soundproof and bulletproof roller shutters. Prices range from £130 to £2,500 (roller shutter). See more information on roller shutters here.
