Cost overview Kitchen painting price

Pricing determined by the following choices

If you are having your kitchen painted, the price is determined by the following factors.

Choice 1: Using different materials

You can make your kitchen very different from standard kitchens because what could be more fun to give your kitchen a unique touch. Would you like to have the kitchen doors and kitchen cabinets painted in combination with the colours metal or are you thinking more of copper-coloured drawers and the doors in a matching colour? Anything is possible. This way, you can add a certain style to your kitchen that in normal circumstances would only appear after many years, such as layers of metal, bronze and copper. The cost of a kitchen sprayer is around £35 per m2.

Choice 2: Type of paint

Choosing a type of paint is important. Especially when you are going to spray paint the kitchen cabinets, it is important that the paint cannot just be knocked off. The colour when painting the kitchen is personal but most people use polyurethane paint. This is a hard-wearing paint that comes in many colours. You can choose between turpentine-thinnable or a water-thinnable paint (acrylic paint). Primer is also important. For this, choose a primer that is suitable for the substrate. Below is a price indication of the different types of paint used when painting a kitchen.

Paint types Average price per litre incl. £ 40
Primer £ 10 – £ 40
Water-thinnable paint £ 10 – £ 80

Choice 3: Combine painting for a nice experience

When the kitchen cabinets are painted, it becomes visible that the colour of the ceiling and walls differ. You get a nice result when you paint the kitchen cabinets, walls and ceilings to match with a new coat of paint. Below is a price indication of the different painting jobs. This creates perfect combinations for painting projects.

Type of painting Average price incl. labour, materials and VAT Depending
Paint ceiling costs £ 200 – £ 1.500 Ceiling size (think 30 to 70 m2)
Doors painting price £ 850 – £ 1,000 10 to 20 doors incl. doorposts
Dormer window painting price £ 500 – £ 1,000
Staircase painting cost £ 300 – £ 700 1x whitening and sanding, cleaning and painting

Choice 4: Additional options – make a plan

Make a plan when painting the kitchen. For example, you choose the basics, just a refresh or add a profile mat for a different look. After making this choice, you will make a choice for the surface material. An additional option is to add some renovations to your kitchen such as extra kitchen cabinets, light points or new tiles. With these renovations, cooking will become a feast again!
