Cheap paver

Want to (re)pave a terrace, driveway or garden on a smaller budget? Then look for a cheap paving contractor. After all, you don’t have to pay too much for a beautiful result. In this article you will find not only costs, but also all kinds of tips to keep your project as cheap as possible.

What does a cheap paving contractor cost?

The costs of paving are largely determined by the labour costs. These are calculated in two ways: per hour from £30 or per square metre from £20. Which method you use depends on the type of paving you are having done.

If you want paving in a laid pattern with a high degree or difficulty, it is usually cheaper to pay per hour. You will then pay an average of 30 to 60 euros per hour. For a simple project, you can also pay per square metre. This is on average £20 to £40 per m2.

How to keep a paving contractor cheap?

For your project, you undoubtedly want a quality result without paying too much. How can you ensure that your paver prices stay as low as possible?

  • Take into account the complexity of the project
  • Do your own preparatory work
  • Don’t pave the entire garden
  • Compare quotes for the best deal

Take into account the complexity of the project

Do you opt for large square bricks, or would you like the patio tiles to be laid in a pattern? The more difficult the pattern, the longer the paver will be working on it. Paving on a budget? Then choose an easier pattern. This will save time and money.

Do your own preparatory work

Many hands make light work. By removing the old tiles yourself in advance. Do grass or plants need clearing? You can probably take that job off the streetsetter’s hands as well. That way you save on the hours of the professional. Just be sure to discuss in advance what you can do yourself.

Don’t pave your entire garden

It may sound like a catch-all, but paving a smaller area also means you will spend less money on labour and tiles. Fill the rest of your garden with grass and plants, for example. Not only does this look nice, it also ensures that rainfall will sink into the ground more easily – and that’s better for your garden.

Compare quotes

Request quotes from several specialists. That way, you can compare quotes on labour costs, materials and guarantees. Comparing quotes will help you choose the best specialist in terms of information and budget. Use Renoca to easily request several quotes using a single quote form.
