Price examples

In the price table you can see an overview of the average paving prices of a driveway. Which option best suits your needs? Check out 3 handy price examples below.

Most economical cueze

If you want the most economical driveway possible, go for paving with an easy-laying pattern of concrete bricks. Waaljes are also known as clinkers. You will pay £20 to £40 per m2 for the paver and £20 to £40 per m2 for the bricks.

High quality tiles

Do you have a driveway that has to be able to bear a lot of weight, and therefore prefer higher quality tiles? Then choose an easy pattern with baked bricks. Baked bricks are of a higher quality and are therefore slightly more expensive than concrete bricks. For a driveway with an easy pattern and baked bricks, you will pay around £40 to £60 per m2 for the tiles, and £20 to £40 per m2 for the paver.

Luxurious-looking driveway

The most luxurious option is if you want a driveway with a complicated laying pattern and baked bricks. An intricate pattern is usually charged by the hour because it takes more time to lay. The cost is around £30 to £60 for a paver per hour, and baked bricks cost between £40 to £60 per m2.

What choices affect the price of your driveway paving?

There are several choices that determine the price of your driveway. The different choices can be seen below.

Influence 1: Type of tile

  • Concrete bricks: Concrete bricks are a lot cheaper than fired bricks, this is because they can be produced faster. There is also a difference in quality between concrete bricks. Concrete bricks completely made of concrete are cheaper than concrete bricks with a wearing course. A wearing course protects the paving against weather influences and ultraviolet radiation. Concrete bricks are supplied in any colour and the price is between £20 and £40 per m2.
  • Baked bricks: Baked bricks are usually slightly more expensive because they are of better quality and therefore last for years. Baked clinkers can be bought in different colours and thicknesses. The colour is determined by the type of clay used and the firing process, not by dye additives, as is the case with concrete bricks.
  • Other tiles: Most people choose bricks for paving their driveway because a driveway needs to be very sturdy. The bricks for a driveway should be at least 7 cm thick to be suitable for carrying cars. It is possible to opt for other tiles, but you have to make sure that the tiles are 7 cm thick.

Incentive 2: Hire a paver?

With a driveway, it is very important that the paving is laid firmly, as it has to bear a lot of weight. A paving contractor has all kinds of materials that will make laying easier and so that, for example, no tiles have to be lifted. Hiring a paver will save you a lot of time and hard work.

For a simple pattern, a paver charges a rate per m2, for which the costs vary, starting from £20 to £40. If you want a complicated pattern in your paving, the paver charges by the hour, as a complicated pattern takes more time. The cost of a paver ranges from £30 to £60 per hour – this depends on the difficulty of the pattern.

Influence 3: Additional options

The following options are not essential for your driveway, but if you add them they will provide extra strength and an extra nice look.

Product Price Advantage
Sirakes £7 – £35 per m2 Makes for an extra nice look.
Dividing bands £ 10 – £ 30 per metre For level differences in your garden or flowerbeds.
