What choices affect the price?

If you are having granol applied to the walls, the price is determined by 4 choices.

Choice 1: Plasterer or DIY
Because finishing the walls is very noticeable in a home, it is important that it is done properly. A plasterer has all the knowledge, experience and materials needed to do this. You can save on granol by doing the plastering yourself, but without experience, it is a difficult project. Keep in mind that when a small project needs to be done, the plasterer will charge the price per hour. For a larger project, the price is calculated per square metre, making the price lower. Plastering can also be very time-consuming when you have little or no experience. As a result, you work less efficiently, the plaster dries too quickly and this causes unevenness. When hiring a plasterer, you have 100% certainty of beautiful results.

Choice 2: Many or few grains in the structure
Granol plaster costs on average between £12 and £23, but that depends on the grain and colour applied. For example, a dark colour with large grains is more expensive than a white wall with small grains. Because when you want a textured wall with lots of grains, you have to take into account that more paint is needed than for a smooth wall. Because of the texture and holes, more paint is absorbed into the wall. Think of 30% more paint than with smooth walls.

Choice 3: Additional option
With granol, there are a number of additional options you can choose.

Service Average price, incl. VAT When?
Sanding £ 15 – £ 25 per m2 If you want a nice shadow effect on your ceiling, for example, choose sanding. The plasterer works with a sanding sponge with which he applies a sandy surface to the ceiling in rotating movements.
£ 15 – £ 30 per m2 If you have walls or ceilings that are too rough, have a layer of plaster mortar applied as a base for other forms and plasterwork. A layer of rendering is between 5 and 7 mm thick.
