Laminate offers many colour options, making it easy to match with the rest of your interior. From £ 800 you can have your stairs covered with laminate by a specialist. Laminate is also common in the form of covering steps that are placed over your current steps. This is called staircase renovation.

With vinyl stair covering, it is not usual to cover the sides. The average stair covering cost of £1,100 is for the material and the labour costs.
High price:

Then covering your stairs with woodis a good choice. Make the staircase complete and safe by also fitting anti-slip strips. The stair covering costs for oak overlay steps and anti-slip strips are on average £2,800.

What choices determine the stair covering costs?
The final cost of your stair covering depends on a number of factors. First of all, of course, the cost depends on the shape of your staircase. Do you have an open or a closed staircase? Is it straight (a straight staircase), does it have a bottom or top quarter, or perhaps even a double quarter? If you have an open staircase but want to close it, now is the time. The shape of the staircase will determine how much material is needed and how long the specialist will take to cover it. The remaining part of the stair covering cost depends on the following choices:
Choice 1: What material stair covering do you choose?
What material do you want to use for the stair covering? The properties of the material used determine the look of the room. Will you go for a soft carpet, or do you prefer warm oak on your stair treads?
Choice 2: Will you have the staircase cheeks and risers clad?
A standard staircase has staircase cheeks (the sides) in addition to the treads themselves, and risers in the case of a closed staircase. Choose whether to have these covered, or to have them painted, for example, or perhaps to leave them undisturbed. Covering the stair cheeks is often included in the price. For risers, you pay an extra charge of £ 200 per staircase on average. To complete your staircase, you can choose various extras. Decide which options you want to add to your revamped staircase and calculate the final stair covering cost.
